Notebook Hack

One thing I could not live without is my idea journal. Anytime I'm inspired by something or come up with an idea it's documented in the journal. To keep these ideas organized, I created some tabs for my notebook. Any guesses what the tabs are made of?

If you said Japanese masking tape, you're right! All I did was fold a piece of masking tape over both sides of one page to create a tab. One nice thing about using tape for tabs is that it's flexible and will not tear off. Any masking tape will do but Japanese masking tape adds charm.

Each tab coordinates with a different category.

I keep an idea journal too ... these tabs are a great idea. I'll have to get some rolls of masking tape. Thanks for the idea!

One thing I do with magazines I'm finished with is tear off the cover and fold it in half. I tape up the sides to make mini file folders, then I cut out things I like or articles I want to keep with decorative scissors and put them in the folders for reference. The folders take up a fraction of the space, and I recycle the rest.

I liked your journal. I guess it's a moleskine, I'm adore moleskines too, even my blog is named after it:)

I use small notebooks that I can keep in my purse or tote bag for lists and ideas. I love how this is organized...just the other day when I was looking for a new notebook I noted I couldn't find any with divided sections. Will have to try this!

great idea -- cuter than the actual tab stickers intended for this sort of thing.

So fantastic. It likely adds to the look of "use" when you finish a journal. I love it.
