How to Make a Toadstool Gift Box
Above is a toadstool gift box I made primarily out of crepe paper, cardboard, and a toilet paper roll. I used a high quality crepe paper that I purchased from Castle in the Air. If you're ever in Berkeley, CA on 4th street, I highly recommend visiting the store. The best word to describe the place is "enchanting". Directions for the craft below.
Supplies:
Crepe paper (red, off white, moss green)
card board
one TP roll
exacto knife
craft glue
scissors
green felt
tape
Cut out a circle of cardboard with a 4" diameter. Cut a slit to the center. Bend to make a cone shape. Glue to hold.
Cut a red crepe paper circle out larger than the cone. Glue to cone, glue excess under cone. Cut out some small off white circles and glue to top.
Cut a red 4 inch diameter circle. Make it just like the cone. Glue to inside of cone (this covers up any rough edges).
Cut a tp ring with a 3/4" height. Cut the ring and re-glue to make the ring slightly smaller. This will serve as the lid. Cut around ring to make prongs (refer to picture). Glue to inside of cone.
Cut a cardboard circle with a 2 3/4" diameter. Glue green crepe paper to the top. Fold the excess under. Glue a green felt circle to the bottom of the cardboard circle. Cover a 2" length tp roll with off white crepe paper. Glue tube to the center of the green circle. Add the lid. Done.

This idea is so novel and cleverly executed! I love all things toadstool, and it would be such a hit with my daughter's friends! Thanks for the idea, and the link to the Castle in the Air store. Oh, my!!
