I purchased a pair of superhero PJ's for my son and he loved them. Too much in fact, he wanted to where them every night. Well, I wasn't going to buy any more, and I definitely wasn't going to be washing them every day. So using my crafty superpowers, I came up with the idea of sewing Velcro onto his other PJ's. That way he could wear the cape every night. Directions below.
*If your child doesn't have a set of these PJ's you could easily make the cape yourself. The cape above is made out of a knit nylon and it's not even hemmed. Click on the picture above for a better view.
1. Measure the distance between the Velcro on the cape.
2. Using a sticky Velcro ( I purchased it at the dollar store) place it on the back of the shirt(refer to picture). Make sure the distance between the Velcro is one inch less than the measurement in step 1.
3. Sew on the Velcro. I hand sewed the Velcro on but you could use a sewing machine as well. Just keep in mind that the child will probably be ripping the cape on and off.

I'm having an "Why didn't I think of that" moment. I have a little batman who gets very sad when the utility belt is in the wash. :)
Interesting costume. Kids will really like this. :)
