My Mother in law introduced me to this recipe, cranberry scones. This is one of those recipes you keep in the regular rotation category. They're quick and easy to make. Perfect for breakfast and keep the family coming back for more. Try it for yourself and tell me what you think.
Drop Cranberry Scones
In a large bowl mix in this order.
3 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tb Baking Powder
1/2 tsp Baking Soda
1 1/2 cup plain yogurt ( if dough is too dry I add a little extra yogurt or milk)
1/2 cup butter (cut into dough)
1-2 cups dried cranberries (just depends if you like a little or a lot)
Once all well mixed, drop 1/4 cup portions on a non greased baking sheet (space about 2" apart. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Yields approximately 24 scones.
*These scones do not have the same texture as traditional scones. They're more moist and doughy.

Looks good, maybe I'll try it with a different variation. I'm not too fond of cranberries so I'll make use of something else. =)
How delicious-looking! And what a coincidence - I just made scones yesterday and took a photo and wrote down the recipe (I rarely measure) so I could post it later on. I prefer cranberries to what I put in mine (chocolate chips, but that's all I had in the house).
I love scones! I make a more traditional one that is a little fussy with kneading the dough just right without over mixing. I definitely have to give this recipe a try.
Cranberries are one of my very faves...I can't wait to try this recipe.
hmmm...have been looking for a great scone recipe, But my husband does not do any kind of "berry" wonder if I can substitute chocolate chips instead. I looove chocolate chip scones!
Oh, they look SOOO delicious!!! I am definitely going to try them!
I will definitely be trying these, thanks for the recipe! And I put a link up for that zucchini crust on my blog, it is at the bottom of the "quenny bread" post.
Oow those look yummy! I think every family has their own special recipe for scones, such a yummy classic!
Very yummy looking! Thank you for sharing. :)
Looks really good. :) May be I will give it a go to bake some of these too.
