Brighten up sweaters and jackets with charms in your jewelry box. Simply attach them to the zipper for a little extra color. If your charms only come with jump rings, add a large lobster clasp to the jump ring to easily take it on and off the zipper. Just make sure to take off the charm before washing.
I experimented with all kinds of charms including this cell phone charm. It looks just as good as the jewelry charms.

ah! yes, I had a purple plastic chain too. and the vinyl record and the anchor charms. I don't remember what else I had. sometimes my friends and I would pop the clippy part out and wear the charms like clip-on earrings. they'd start hurting after a while, though. we thought we were so cool.
Well, another affirmation of the fact that I'm old - my daughter had one of the necklaces. I've always loved the way charms sound when they clink together and I have 5 charm bracelets that I started when I turned 15. Love them.

I'ts a charming idea, but a little bit dangerous. Be careful, the charms can get trapped and the kid could be in danger. Not for babies or toddlers. Shorten the cord.

The charms are from my childhood. I've always liked to collect things, even as a child. That's why I still have them to this day. Now my daughter plays with them. I didn't take a picture of all of them, there's also a blow dryer, ski's, dolphin and a pocket mirror charm.

I had some of these charms when I was a kid. They were on a belt though. The belt had flower cut outs all around and each hole had a charm hanging from it. I thought I was the coolest kid in town when I wore it. It would make a jingling noise when I walked.

Ohmigod! I totally had one of those necklaces, but it was a white chain. It was one of my favorite treats to go to our local flea market on LI on Sundays to pick out more charms to add to it! I wonder if I still have any in my parents' house?

I do this on my girls zippers as well. Considering her little fingers is too small to grab the zipper.

I never seen anyone use cell phone charm this way...it's unique and very claver! I have a lot old cell phone charms, now I know where to re-use them.

OMG I had about a hundred of those things.. I had them hanging from every shelf in my room...
I had one of those! I had to save up my allowance for it because my folks thought it was about the stupidest thing ever but I LOVED it. I think my best charm was the little tourquise frying pan with a wee little fried egg in it.
I had a yellow chain!! I don't even remember where we used to buy those charms, do you? I had that record album charm! I remember having a little harmonica, too.
