Craft Project: Paper Cup Gift Boxes

Anyone else have a random assortment of paper cups in their cupboards? It seems every time we host a party there's just a few left over cups. Which always begs the question, what to do with them? The answer, turn them into cute little gift boxes. These boxes are easy to make and only take minutes to do, promise.

Supplies:
Paper Cups
Scissors
Tape or Glue
Label or Sticker

First you will need a standard paper cup like this one. Any size will do.

Cut off the lip of the cup, refer to picture.

Cut one inch strips all around the cup. The strips should be a little longer than half the diameter of the top of the cup. Make sure all the cuts are the same length.

Fill cup with cookies, candy, etc. Fold the strips down, one at a time.

Once all the strips are down, tape them down to seal the box.

Tape or glue a label to the top to hide the tape. Done

* Heart print cups would make cute boxes for Valentine Day treats.

Well, that is just so cute and clever. What a great way to use up those leftover cups. I think my 7-year-old could pretty much do this herself and she will love it!

This is so cute and such a great idea! Definitely better than having miscellaneous cups clutter up your space or throwing them out. I kind of want to try this out right now, but I don't have any paper cups lying around at the moment (boo)!

I love this idea. You must have looked in MY cupboards because I have that assortment of paper cups of which you speak :) And I'm often giving small gnomes or brooches as gifts, so these would be perfect. Thanks for a great idea. I'll be linking on Facebook.

That is such a simple but gorgeous idea - the only problem is I'm tempted to go buy some paper cups just to try it and that sort of misses the point! :D

Very clever idea. It would also look cute with a bow on top instead of the label. Great way to use items that would otherwise be cluttering up your space. (if you don't have a use for small gift boxes, you can always drink from those leftover cups too! lol)
