I'm not sure if "envelope origami" really exists but for my amusement lets pretend it does.
Envelope origami - to create a likeness of an object using geometric folds and crease patterns preferably without gluing or cutting the paper, and using only one envelope.
In this case, I folded an envelope into a box. It's an easy craft to turn your junk mail into something functional. Security envelopes work best for this project.

Adorable! I'll be doing this to some of my junk mail!
Great idea- thanks for sharing! I have become a chronic envelope hoarder when there is any kind of print on the inside! :D
fabulous. From now on, we don't have to tear off magazine pages to fold into boxes to collect fish bones or chicken bones during our meal time.
That's such a fun idea!
Brilliant!
Now that's a creative way to recycle a patterned envelope!
It's great and it works too! I had to check back on the unfold pics twice then I got it.
Thank you ;)
Marcia,
I'm glad you were able to make the box. Thank you for commenting to let me know.
If there's a way you think I could make the directions more clear, please let me know.

Jessica, I looooove it!
Thank you for the reply Jessica,
Your instructions are clear, I mis-read point #9 - I unfolded both ends, then realised that the pointed ends stay folded (hidden under the finished box).
I turned envelope to match your picture directions, as I was a little thrown by looking at picture #6 flip over, then realised it was also turned 45 degrees, and back again in picture #7.
Hope my explanation makes sence ;~)
Best regards,
Marcia

Great idea! And so handy!! Keep all my junk organised for once! Thank you =)
Thank you so very much! I despair at the numerous payment envelopes and even plan to send them back to the companies. Now i have such a wonderful use for it. I tried it immediately upon reading the post and now i have a small box to hold thumbdrives and USB cables near the desktop. I so love this!!!! ;D
I like to nest these boxes to get a sturdier box. Thanks for the tup!
