Sakuranbo - Cherry in a flavored gelatin
If you're looking for something different to give for Valentine's Day this year, consider some Japanese sweets. I purchased this Sakuranbo
confection at J. Sweets in the
Mitsuwa Market. Not only do the confections taste good but they're also beautifully wrapped. Now, I realize many of you don't live close to a store like this. In that case, see what other specialty food stores are in your area. You never know what you might discover.

My husband and I frequent two local chocolatiers--one Belgian and the other, Swiss--for Valentine's. We prefer European chocolates because they tend not to be so sweet. I think Japanese confections are a wonderful alternative, and they do indeed package them beautifully. We get our tea sweets from Minamoto Kitchoan in NYC. We only go to New York once a year, so we buy multiples of anything we want! We're completely snowed in this year, so getting deliveries is impossible for Valentine's, but we're looking forward to our spring trip. Your lovely, scrumptious pictures have reminded me of what I have to look forward to in New York ... yum! Thanks always for sharing!
Cute blog!

Very interesting and lovely. Guess you are once again. It doesn't need to be in the shape of a heart.
