How to Make Cupcake Liner Packets

Cupcake liners come in such pretty colors, shapes and prints now. Have you noticed? Well I have and it makes me wonder what else I could use them for. Oh, how that wondering always gets the best of me. So, I decided to make some sweet little packages with the cupcake liners. You can tuck little cookies, candy, or whatever else you want into the packets. They're inexpensive, simple, and quick to make.

Supplies:
Cupcake liners
White glue - make sure it's non-toxic

Gently flatten two cupcake liners to about half their original height.

Fill one liner with treats. Run a small amount of glue all the way around the edge of the cupcake liner.

Place the second cupcake liner on top and press the edges together, working your way all around the liners. Let dry.

*It's easier to make the packets if there's just one cookie in the packet opposed to loose candy. Making the packets with candy inside just takes a little more patience because it moves around.

Other options: label cupcake liners first with contents, add embellishments, enclose a sweet note inside the package

That is such a cute idea! I don't know how you keep thinking these up! Very lovely for a kids party bag or with a ribbon attached as Christmas decorations!

Lilly,

Sometimes I don't know how I come up with these ideas either. ;)

beautiful idea! I will try with double sided tape instead of glue. hmm.. how about sewing them together?

I Like Paper Cutting,

I tried double stick tape and it didn't work. I'm not sure if my tape wasn't strong enough but I found the glue worked much better. If you decide to use tape, let us know how it goes. Maybe you'll have better luck.

The liners are beautiful, but you must share what those candies are and what do they taste like? They are so pretty!

Cassy,

They're Japanese star candy also known as kompeito. Unfortunately they look better than they taste. They pretty much taste like sugar.

What a great idea for making use of extra cupcake liners. You have very pretty ones too, which just makes these lovely packets even nicer to give and receive. It would be perfect for an Easter basket, so I hope you remember to link to this come next spring ... thanks again for sharing!

Or when there is a lot of small candies, one can make the cupcake-package first, and leave a small hole to fill in the package. And then glue the hole or punch it togheter.

Thank you so much for sharing. I think this idea is so sweet...with so many possible uses. My daughter (who serves as resident-advisor in her college dorm) is always needing ideas like this for "door decs" and treats. I'll file this one away for fall. Thanks again!
