Crayola Ultimate Easter Basket Giveaway

Crayola sent me some of their products along with a $25 Michael's gift card to make the ultimate Easter basket.  Here's a little bit about how I crafted up the basket pictured above:

I purchased the white basket at Michaels and it came with a fabric liner.  I decided I wanted to have a knit liner instead.  I knit the liner in the round with a knit 2 purl 2 pattern.  Once it was the desired length for the outside of the basket, I placed half the stitches on a separate needle and knit those stitches until I had the desired length for the inside and bound off the stitches.  I repeated the process for the remaining stitches.  This allowed me to fold the liner down around the handle.

I had this idea of a scaled back yarn bombed basket so I knit a rectangle ribbed piece in the same pattern and sewed it to the handle.

Since I have two kids and hide their baskets, I always like to make a name tag.  In the past I've printed out labels but this time I decided to sew a hand-stitched felt tag.  I also added a couple pom poms with some extra yarn to make it more fun.  For the back of the tag I sewed on a pin so the tag could be taken off the basket.

Now, you probably want to know about the giveaway part, here goes. . .

One lucky winner will receive a Crayola Prize Pack with the following items:

Crayola Outdoor Colored Bubbles Big Wand
  • Using the Big Wand, Kids can create massive bubbles in bright colors like “purple pizzazz” and “fuchsia,” to chase, catch and pop
Crayola Crayons
  • Crayola Crayons include the colors generations have grown up with.
  • Crayola Crayons are designed with a focus on true color, smoothness, and durability.

Crayola Color Wonder
  • Crayola Color Wonder markers only appear on the special Color Wonder paper, so kids can have mess-free fun whenever, wherever and moms don’t have to worry about color showing up where it shouldn’t.

Crayola Chalk
  • Crayola sidewalk chalk creates big outdoor art with the ONLY sidewalk chalk in bright, bold Crayola crayon colors!

My 3-year-old would love stickers and crafts, chocolate (of course), and a few small toys. My 6-week-old is probably going to get a stuffed animal and a few other small toys for her first Easter. I like to pair some toys with the candy so that I don't feel compelled to fill the entire basket with candy, but they get a little of each. mad126@gmail.com

My three kids have used the same baskets for years. There will be PEEPS! and chocolates (from various countries and that's what we have in our family)and a handmade card for each and a bunny, of some handmade genre (decided at the last inspiration minute!) that they will each get. We have raised rabbits, so bunnies abound in this house.

I like to always add aspecial note from the Easter Bunny written on a vintage Easter card. I like to add Easter eggs filled with cute little trinkets that my little ones add to their trwasure boxes & a golden egg filled with money. Then I make assorted playdough in Easter colors & scent them with "marshmallow", "Peeps", "jelly beans", etc. I tell them that the Easter Bunny made it for them :) Happy Easter Everyone!!

PEEPS of all sorts! But of course, one needs more than peeps in a basket...
So, Hello Kitty goodies as well: stickers, maybe some pencils or pens, and perhaps a stuffed HK toy or two. And, you can't forget chocolate! Cadbury eggs, robin's eggs, a chocolate bunny. And, perfect!

I first of all put the crayons goodies in it. Then it would have plastic eggs filled with jelly beans and others filled with coins. Gotta have peeps and a large chocolate bunny. Even throw in a stuffed animal like a chicken or a bunny. Wrap it all in cello plastic wrap and tie it up with a large bow.

I think my ultimate easter basket would have to include a mini remote controlled something as well as some art supplies -- my boys love crafting almost as much as playing with toys!

We've never done an Easter basket before (my son is 2.5, but he never really "cared" before). He had so much fun with the egg hunt last year that I think just hiding the basket will be all of the present he needs. But I'll probably get some crafty supplies, little toys. Maybe one little sweet treat :)
