Lego Kirigami

Now that I've got some of the basic kirigami principles down thanks to my new book, I've been experimenting with different shapes. I thought it would be fun to take the traditional person paper cut and change it to a Lego person. Below is a template with instructions on how to make your very own Lego kirigami.

Supplies:
Yellow paper ( 4" x 11") - light weight
Scissors
Lego template
Right click image, copy, save, and scale to 4 inches in height. Print and cut out for template.
Fold yellow paper as directed above.

Trace template on folded paper. It should look like the above image.

Cut out shape, unfold, done.

    Oh, I love it! You're really making me want to track down this kirigami book, haha ... Well, I do have a birthday coming up ...

    I love the fact that the Lego figure was your inspiration. We rock Legos in our household, and my son will love this newest post. Perfect color too, and it definitely matches the figure you posed with your kirigami ... even if he's naked!

    Sweet! My kids loved Legos (in fact, the 16-year-old still does), and my oldest does kirigami and origami...it's making me nostalgic!

    You may just be my boys new favourite person! I have always wanted them to do paper dolls and this might be the closest I'll get. They are going to love decorating them star wars style I'm sure. I really LOVE the photos on this post, they made me laugh and they are so cool!

    This takes me take to my childhood, me and my sister used to amuse ourselves cutting paper figures and we would also make paper clothes for them which we would colour in with pens.

    I LOVE this idea. I have been playing with it though and trying to make a really long strand/banner of them and can't figure out how to keep them connected. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I realize your post has been around for awhile, but you saved me! I have desperately been looking around the 'net for some type of Lego mini-figure template and voila! here it is! I'm going to use it to create a Lego minifigure quilt for my Lego-fantatic 5 yr old grandson. Thanks so much!!!
