I'm pretty sure that at any given time of day, there's a LEGO or two lying out on the floor. I don't think they ever "really" get put away. So since we like LEGO's around here so much, I decided to make some accessories for them. These capes are super easy and quick to make. Here's the how-to:
Cape Template
Right click, copy, save, print and cut out the cape template. You may need to adjust the scale.
Cut out some felt capes with the template.
Fold cape in half lengthwise and make a small slit. You'll want the hole just big enough to fit over the neck.
Embellish if you wish.

This is such a clever idea. Ive been going around and I really like your fun tutorials.
Id like to offer you a spot in being a featured guest blogger at www.everydaymomideas.com If your interested let me know. Id love to have you!
This is a wonderful idea. We are just starting the real lego stage in our space, and I think this would be a hit and a great use for my bag of felt scraps. Nicely photographed, something so simple looks so great.
Very cute!
I've made a few of these recently! Good idea to post a pattern. I've also been asked to make parachutes! :)
Yours are much nicer than mine. Our younger grandson is always asking me to make a cape for him. I usually use whatever fabric bits are in my sewing basket (felt, velvet, denim). The most durable was a piece cut from an elastic belt - it didn't fray or tear around the neck hole. I've even resorted to paper (from a crossword puzzle book) ones when I was too tired to get up.
Your pattern is nice and much more artistic than mine (although I will say that the time I tried to do something a little more ambitious and drew a bat on the Batman one ... well, it wasn't terribly popular).
Parachutes - I'll have to think about how to make one. What would the ropes connect to?
eine tolle Idee! die brauche wir hier auch!

Super cool! I linked to you today.
Fantastic - we're the same, Legos everywhere, and often everyone is scrambling around looking for a specific cape. I used to try to make some out of fabric, but it wasn't as sturdy as felt would be. This is wonderful!
I've also made little sleeping bags for them out of felt. I'll try to post about that on my blog and link to this post.
he he, these are just so cute.
These are going to be such a hit with my son & his playmobil 'superheroes'! Thanks for sharing.
I found your link through Planning Queen. My six year-old son will love these superhero capes - we will definitely be making some of these. My daughter is turning four tomorrow, and we are giving her a dollhouse - I think it will need some of your accessories! Thanks for the fabulous ideas.
HOW genius are you? Legos are the air we breathe in my house! :)
Thank you for this- love your photos, too!

In a pinch, I've made mine with paper and used a hole punch for the neck. Two holes side by side then overlapped on the neck makes it have a little more dimension.
I'm SO excited to find this!! I'm creatively impaired and never would have thought to do this. My almost 4 year old son is obsessed with Lego and capes! When he saw this he was so excited I could barely contain him. This is going to be very fun! Thanks!!
OH my! My son will think he died and gone to heaven with these lego capes, thanks for sharing!I was trying to do a lego bday party but I couldn't find much to do for it...
