envelopes!
These hearts are very easy and addicting to make. I've got a whole bunch of them lying around the house just waiting to be decorated. All you need is an envelope and a pair of scissors to get started. Directions below.
Cut the corner off the bottom of an envelope.
Cut out heart shape as pictured above.
Done! You now have an heart pouch to fill with love notes, candy, etc.
Decorate them anyway you want. You can even seal the top edges with a little glue to make a packet.

Excellent upcycle, I always feel bad when I see an envelope being tossed after just one use. Now I am going to be looking for anything with a corner.
Great idea (as usual)! I really love ideas for using things that we already have.
What a sweet idea! I may actually look forward to the post arriving tomorrow :)
excellent idea!
Brilliant idea!!! I'll probably link to it today... Thanks!
I love upcycling ideas! <3
This is so great! I have tons of envelopes lying around! :P
VERY cute! It would be fun to have kids paint them with watercolors first before cutting them :)
oh! love that idea!!
never thought of that....
<3
Smart idea. Pouches are doubly sweet w/ red security envelopes' print showing.
Wonderful idea for all those envelopes (I usually recycle). My daughter is going to love making these to fill with stickers or skittles. Thanks!!
Super- sweet and darling!!! Icing on the top that they are recycled!!!

What a great idea.
What an excellent idea <3
I can't wait to make some of these :)
I love these - so cute and a great way to recycle! I featured them in my post at http://livingmontessorinow.com/2011/02/07/activity-of-the-week-turning-valentine-crafts-into-montessori-oriented-activities/
I used this craft and your origami heart idea together as the lollipop covers. It was much less time consuming to do it this way (esp. for my son's and daughter's classes). Thanks for such "kawaii" crafts.
I love this idea so much! I totally did it for Valentine's Day and did a Scavenger Hunt with clues hidden in the Heart Pouches for my Sweetie. He loved it. Thank you for the idea. I wrote up the story on my blog and referenced you as the source for the heart pouches. Thank you. http://wepurpose.wordpress.com
