After I posted the chevron pattern a couple weeks back, I decided to put it to use and make a doll blanket. Well, in this case a lemur blanket. I just doubled the cast on to 88 and changed colors every six rows. I'm so glad to have it done (can move on to new projects). I was in a hurry to finish it so I was knitting all day. Unfortunately, now my hands feel like they're going to fall off. I think I need to do some kind of knitting hand stretches next time.
What have you guys been making lately? Has anyone started on Christmas gifts?

So adorable! Your chevron blanket turned out beautiful, it fits your cradle perfectly. My daughter has a very similar lemur! I haven't started on Christmas gifts yet, but it is very much on my mind.
I love the chevron pattern too. I will get to that one eventually! I did just knit my first Christmas gift. It's an acorn hat for my 1 year old nephew. I also plan on knitting a piggle hat (from knitty winter 06) for my 2 year old niece who is always wearing pigtails. And with any luck, I'll have time to knit for my own sons a pair of "snuggly" socks.
Love love love!
Projects...Christmas?? No way. First must get past the Halloween costumes. :) Littlest one wants to be a unicorn. ;o
And want to sew up some fall skirts for the girls. Then maybe onto Christmas.
KJ@letsgoflyakite,
I guess those lemurs are really popular with kids. My daughter claims it's my third child. I asked her if she wants another brother and sister and she replied, "yes I want a baby (long pause) lemur!
Cara,
I just looked up the Piggle hat you're talking about and it looks awesome! I bet it stays on well too. I'd ask to see the acorn hat but I guess you can't post that on your blog until after Christmas.
Deanna,
Are you going to make the unicorn costume? It sounds like quite the challenge. And you've got to post it to your blog so we can all see.
I'm going to save the blanket for a Christmas gift. If I don't start making gifts early, I know I'll run out of time and have to buy something.
So cute! Great job, Jessica! :)
I would have loved a little blanket like that for my dolls growing up!
love the colors you selected for the blanket.
Since a week I see a lot of Chevron. I love it.
Jo,
I know what you mean. Besides knitting, I've seen chevron cards, cookies and even a chalkboard!
Christmas knits?
Yup!
In the heat of summer I knit ornaments. Small and portable and in large quantities.
I moved on to 2 infant sweaters -- hoping the recipents don't have a growth spurt!
Now I've one last row of a Shawl to finish. I'm on target and on budget this year!
Jessica,
I'm making a really simply unicorn. She wanted to be a pink unicorn so I ordered light pink Rabbit skin sweat pants and hoodie. Going to use that as a base. :)
so very cute. I love your color choices and that it's for a stuffed lemur :)
I've been saving my fabric scraps with hopes of using them to make some "bean bag" pillows for my kids. We'll see if I ever get them done. :)
So cute! But I have to ask what stuffed animal is that?
Hi AnnaC,
The stuffed animal is a YooHoo Friend. They are sold just about everywhere, Walgreens, Halmark, Airports, Theme Parks. Here's their official site if you're interested in finding about more about them.
