Knit Wrapping

The first gift of the season is wrapped!  One down and way too many more to go. Not all of them will be topped with these cute snowman but they will all have the same theme, "knits". You see, each Christmas I like to have a theme for my gift wrap.   This year's theme was inspired by this herringbone wrapping paper created by Mara Mi   purchased at Target.

Topping the gift is a snowman standing at only 1 1/4 inches tall. The knitting pattern for this little guy is by Anna Hrachovec.  You can purchase the pattern at her site, Mochimochi Land.

Do you like to choose a theme for your Holiday gift wrap?  If so, what are you doing this year?  Please share.

Since I have 3 kids there used to be Christmas morning confusion regarding whose gift was whose before they could read their names on the tags. I started color coding their presents so I chose one big roll of paper for each child according to their favorite color (red, green and pink). Then they know whose gifts are whose. This works out well, and they like it because Santa knows their favorite color. I still had enough from the rolls I bought last year to use this year so buying just 3 rolls in 2 years is pretty budget conscious too.

Dear Anonymous,

Thanks for sharing :) That's the first time I've ever heard of color coding gifts. Very clever.

Very cute! I love MochiMochi's designs. I love your wrapping paper too :].

My themed gifts are a bit less original, lol--I've been using the same giant rolls of blue paper and copper ribbon from costco for the last 3 years! It looks like it will make it another 2 years...

Beautiful package! I don't normally have a theme but it sounds like fun. Pondering...

Our gifts are coded by paper as well. Santa has a different paper for each of my sons and the "key" is explained in a letter he writes to them and leaves next to the cookie plate.
