Clip Art Craft: Valentine Card

Valentine's Day is approaching soon which means it's time to start making Valentine cards. Each year I like to make an original Valentine to pass out. When I started brainstorming, I knew I wanted to incorporate a snail (don't ask me why). After a little thought it occurred to me that a lollipop would make a cute shell for the snail. So, if you want to give out snail valentines this year, clip art plus simple directions below. Enjoy.

1. Right click, copy, and save the clip art to a file. The clip art should fit on a letter (8 1/2 by 11) size page. You should get four snail valentines per page.

2. Print on heavy card stock and cut out images.

3. With an exacto knife cut a slit in the center of the snail. Place a lollipop in through the slit (refer to picture). You can also use a hole punch instead. Tape the lollipop stick to back of the paper. Done.

Oh I LOVE these! And SO easy! I'll actually be able to pull off some Valentines, despite having a new baby (at least that baby had better be here before V-Day)!

I LOVE this valentine. Fits my boy perfectly. I'm new to all of this so I'm sure I'm doing something stupid. When I print this out, it comes out all fuzzy. I'm on a MAC if that makes a difference. Please help a newbie - anybody? What am I doing wrong?

Cissy,

I know other didn't have a problem printing these out. You might need to scale them down. Sometimes enlarging images can cause blurriness. Hope this helps :)

I had the fuzzy problem too. When you right click and save the small thumbnail that's above in the post, it saves as a small size (309x400). That's why it's coming out blurry when you print an 8x11. Left click on the thumbnail and a larger version of it will come up. Right click and save that one and it will save at the proper size (1236x1600). Then it will print properly. Thank you for the cute idea. I am doing these snails for the boys in my daughters class and found a butterfly valentine for the girls.
