I had planned on posting a recipe today but it just didn't work out. Don't you hate when that happens? You put all this time into a post only to find out it's a total fail, so sad. Anyways, in need of a replacement post I thought back to older crafts. That made me remember these miniature colored pencils I used to make. You can't actually color with them but they make great little embellishments for craft projects such as cards. They're also the perfect size for Barbies. Super easy directions below.

Oh MAN, that's awesome! I showed my 6yr old Barbie lover, and she was really excited. This is at the top of our "to craft" list! Thanks!!
This is such a clever idea! This will be great in an altered book on childhood that I'm planning.
Can't wait to share this with my sister.

omg, too cool! I love love love them in the thimble.
So cute and clever! Thanks.
I, for one, am very glad your recipe didn't work out. Not that I don't want you to eat nice food, but that I hate cooking and skip food posts. INstead, I got a great post on some supercute little pencils! Thank you.
Wait, I missed something. Did you dip them in paint or color them with real colored penncils?
Oh, I wanted to mention... if, like me, you don't have sandpaper in stock, a nail file would work for a small set of pencils.
It's really cute. What's the best way to stick them on a card?
Yosefa,
Coloring them with marker works best. I'll add that into the post to make it more clear.
I would use a strong glue like E6000 to adhere them to a card.
Thanks for sharing the nail file tip with us!
These are absolutely adorable! Thanks for sharing.
Amazing! This just jump starts my mind with all sorts of "little" things!
Adorable! Can't wait to try!

I've always been charmed by miniatures, so these absolutely tickled my fancy! My girls have developed my appreciation for all things mini as well, so these would be so fun to make with them!
Very very nice.

That is such a cute idea! Love the thimble! :-D I'll have to try this today.
A cute gift for a teacher is normal tiny pencils (Yellow for the body, Black or gray for the tip).
